Our friends were throwing a party for their son's 6th birthday. His favorite animal is the elephant, so these invitations really captured his personality and set the tone for a casual afternoon of fun.
Tell us about the birthday invitations.
We created these invitations as a custom order for our friends. They really liked the elephants on one of our greeting card designs from our Etsy shop. They asked if we could modify the design to make a write-in birthday party invitation. No problem!
We used Adobe Illustrator for the illustration and text, and had the cards professionally printed on 100% recycled linen paper in a heavy 80-lb cover stock. We paired them with matching linen envelopes.
Tips and Tricks
- Etsy shoppers: If you see a greeting card design you like but don't see an invitation in that style (or vice versa), ask the seller if they can create a custom listing for you! Most will be happy to.
- Don't be scared off by the idea of custom-made invitations, whether it's DIY or from a graphic designer. The turnaround time and cost may not be as bad as you expect. And kids love knowing that the invitation was made just for them.
