Editor’s Note (August 2023): This product review was originally written and published in 2019. To make sure we’re still recommending the best products for your needs, we recently reviewed this story to make sure it’s still accurate and that we stand by what we wrote. Despite newer models and options being available, we still feel confident that this product is one of the best choices, and therefore have included it in The Best Trampolines.

When the weather turns warm, bouncing on a trampoline is a favorite pastime for kids and adults alike. Though fun, some models have a checkered safety record because of poor construction and a lack of safety nets. The Zupapa 15FT TUV Approved Trampoline with Enclosure Net tries to change all that with a high safety net and covered springs to prevent painful pinching. Does this focus on safety take away all the fun of free bouncing on a trampoline? My family tested the Zupapa 15FT trampoline to see how it holds up.

Setup and Safety: Goes beyond standards

The Zupapa 15FT trampoline arrived in three separate boxes filled with the different parts and pieces. The trampoline required a full assembly, starting with the frame pieces and ending with the safety net. The directions were straightforward, and the parts were easy to identify. There are step-by-step instructions and an online instructional video if you are uncertain. One tip: You’ll want to assemble the trampoline where it will be used or plan on carrying it to its final destination.

Total setup time is about one to two hours and goes quicker if you have an assistant or two. After assembling the 42 x 1.5-millimeter rust-resistant galvanized steel frame, it took some effort to attach the heavy-duty, UV-protected polypropylene (PP) jumping mat. This part of the process required hooking up all 108 galvanized, 7-inch springs. The supplied loading tool made it easy to grab the spring and attach it to the frame. Zupapa even included gloves to improve grip and prevent you from getting pinched. Even with these extras, you still need some muscle to stretch each spring into place, though. Once the mat is installed, you can attach the dual-layered spring guard, which rests against the springs and covers the sides of the trampoline frame.

The polyethylene (PE) safety net is the last part to assemble, and it can be challenging. Each pole comes in two pieces and has a dense foam layer that needs to slide into the net’s sleeve along with the pole. Getting both the pole and its foam into the sleeve at the same time takes two people—one to hold the pole and one to hold the net’s sleeve. Be gentle with the poles, as they can bend when you start applying pressure to them, and they will separate if you try to pull them out of the sleeve to start over.

Each galvanized net pole is securely attached to the trampoline with two clamps—one at the top of the frame and one at the bottom—for extra security. If you live in a windy area, the trampoline ships with six long, slip-proof stakes that can be used to anchor the trampoline and keep it from being damaged by a gust of wind.

The Zupapa 15FT trampoline was designed to not only meet safety standards but exceed them. It is certified safe by TÜV SÜD, an internationally-known product-testing company. A no-gap design eliminates any spaces between the jumping mat, the spring pad, and the netting. Kids can jump or stand on the side of the mat and not worry about getting pinched by the springs. The net also extends 6 feet, which is high enough that you cannot accidentally jump over the net. A zippered entrance ensures 360-degree coverage. It also is securely attached to the frame so kids can’t slip between the netting and the frame. The net itself is durable and has no tears after more than two months of daily usage.

Design: Spacious, sturdy, and safe

“It’s huge!” was my children's first reaction after their maiden bounces on the Zupapa 15FT trampoline, and they were not exaggerating. The trampoline mat is round with a roomy, 15-foot diameter, almost all of which is usable jumping space. In fact, the trampoline was designed to maximize space—the safety net is attached to the outside of the springs and extends underneath the metal frame. This provides extra room on the mat, allowing jumpers to step on the springs to prepare for a leap or move out of the way when someone else is jumping.

The Zupapa 15FT trampoline is one of the bounciest trampolines we have used.

The trampoline area is wide enough to accommodate a single person doing a variety of bounces and flips—great for the budding gymnast or cheerleader. It’s also broad enough for multiple people to jump without colliding. With a generous weight limit of 375 pounds, we fit two teens or up to five younger kids between 6 and 10 years old at the same time. The 5- and 6-year-old especially enjoyed playing gameson the trampoline.

The Zupapa 15FT trampoline is one of the bounciest trampolines we have used. With 108 springs instead of the standard 96, the Zupapa 15FT trampoline lets you bounce higher with less effort than other trampolines. The frame is very sturdy and has not bent even with vigorous jumping by adults and teenagers. The only weakness is the bars for the safety net. We put a slight bend in one during assembly, and the safety net now sags in this area. The bend was made worse by children who leaned on the net because it was sagging. Even with a slight bend, the net still extends about 5 feet high and provides adequate protection.

Age Range and Entertainment Value: Fun for everyone

The recommended age limit for the Zupapa 15FT trampoline is 10 years or older, but we found it to be safe and enjoyable for children as young as 5 years old with proper supervision. For smaller children, there is an easy-to-assemble ladder for climbing safely in and out of the trampoline. It is safe for little kids and has plenty of bounce for older kids. In our experience, this super-bouncy trampoline was able to keep children and teenagers alike entertained for hours.

Ease of Cleaning: Embrace the dirt

Because it is an outside toy, the Zupapa 15FT trampoline does not require a lot of cleaning. It includes a rain cover that can be used to protect the trampoline from rain, debris, and sun (even though the mat is UV-protected) when it is not being used. There’s also a small outdoor mat that fits under the ladder and cuts down on the debris that clings to your feet. If the trampoline does get covered with dirt or pollen, a quick sweep with a broom or a spray with a garden hose will clean it off.

Price: Worth the extra cost

With a price tag around $560 for Zupapa “VIP members” and $670 for others, the Zupapa 15FT trampoline is expensive, but you get what you pay for. The trampoline has a great bounce and can stand up to the rigors of daily bouncing by a wide variety of kids and adults. Its design maximizes space and provides outstanding safety features that minimize injuries. Having a trampoline that is roomy, reliable, and has a low-risk of injuries is well worth the extra cost.

Competition: Pricier than most

The Zupapa 15 foot trampoline earns high marks for its capacity and exceptional bounce, but its $400-500 price tag may be prohibitive for some people’s budgets.

Skywalker Trampolines 15’ Round Trampoline: A less expensive option is the Skywalker Trampolines 15’ Round Trampoline, which retails for $269 to $400 depending on the options. It has a similar-sized mat and a full enclosure net for safety like the Zupapa but a much lower, 150- to 200-pound weight limit.

Skywalker Trampolines 9x15 Trampoline and Enclosure: The Skywalker Trampolines 9x15 Trampoline has a rectangular shape that makes it ideal for tumbling, running jumps, and somersaults. It’s priced more similarly to the Zupapa but has a weight limit of 250 pounds. Ultimately, the choice comes down to shape, weight limit, and safety features.

Final Verdict

Jump on it!

The Zupapa 15 foot trampoline is a great choice for those who want a quality trampoline and don’t mind paying a bit more for reliable performance. Though the safety net poles seem to bend easily, it really shines when it comes to its easy setup, spectacular bounce height, and wide jumping space.
