Indoor s'mores without waiting in the cold for your marshmallow to get toasty and crisp? Yes, please! This easy-to-make s'mores skillet is a wonderful holiday party dessert or movie night treat, and it's so easy to put together that it only requires three ingredients and 25 minutes total from beginning to end. Who doesn't love a good and creamy s'more when the temperatures begin to drop? Our tasty take on a s'more is easy to clean, budget-friendly, and can feed 8 to 10 chocolate lovers. Find jumbo marshmallows, your favorite chocolate chips, a pat of butter, and a box of graham crackers. You'll need a good heavy skillet, and as this dish needs preheating before assembling, be careful with kids around you who might want to help, or with little ones eager to eat the s'mores once they come out of the oven.

A traditional North American treat from campfires and camping trips, s'mores are close to a century old. The first mention of these ooey-gooey chocolate-marshmallow treats dates back to the 1920s, and from then on multiple recipes of the same graham-cracker sandwich appear in various cookbooks. You probably have a preferred method of campfire preparation and doneness of the marshmallow, but our skillet simplifies the process and there's no holding the cracker with the chocolate with one hand while heating the melty marshmallow with the other. Here you can take a cracker, dip it in the skillet and take the perfect bite of sweet chocolate and fluffy crispy marshmallow. No fire needed.

Adapt this skillet to your dietary needs using dairy-free chocolate chips and/or vegan marshmallows. Gluten-free graham crackers are also available in most stores.

Tip

  • Don’t skip the resting time. The chocolate is also still melting during this time.
