If you're looking for food ideas for a kids' party and your theme is related to butterflies, gardens, the Very Hungry Caterpillar or similar ideas, you'll love these butterfly pretzels.
They're a sweet, colorful treat that actually resembles little butterflies and they're extremely easy to make.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
- Either yogurt-dipped mini twist pretzels or plain mini twist pretzels along with brightly-colored melting chocolate.
- Frosting, either homemade or bought in a easy-to-dispense tube. If the frosting is homemade, you'll need a pastry bag and tip, as well.
If you live near a grocery store that sells multi-flavored yogurt-dipped pretzels, you're in luck. Purchase a bag of those, as well as the frosting.
If you don't, purchase either plain white yogurt-dipped pretzels or a bag of pretzels plus melting chocolate, which is available in a variety of colors.
If your pretzels aren't already dipped, do so following these instructions from About.com's Guide to Candy.
Once the chocolate has set, pipe the frosting vertically onto the middle of the butterfly (as pictured) to resemble the insect's body.
Let the pretzels set out for a while, enabling the frosting to set in place.
Serve on a platter during the butterfly, garden or Very Hungry Caterpillar party.
