Every night throughout the year, Liv, a mother of two who writes the blog 54 Stitches pulls out the family's gratitude journal. Family members takes turns saying something for which they're thankful, and Liv writes it all down in the book.
During the month of November, they continue the ritual but instead of writing down their thoughts in the journal, they write them on strips of red, orange and yellow construction paper. Each strip is curled into a circle and then linked onto the next one with a stapler, creating a long paper chain by Thanksgiving dinner.
"By the end of the month, the room is literally ringed with all that we are thankful for," Liv says.
Simple. Easy. And a great way to make kids feel a part of Thanksgiving.
