Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love simplicity of it, the closeness of family, the feeling of gratitude, and—of course—the food.
I don’t think Thanksgiving thrilled me as much when I was a kid, though. Sitting around a table talking about current events and lingering over wine (and then pie and then coffee) just doesn’t appeal to the little ones like it does to us grownups.
There are ways to involve kids in the holiday, making it fun for everyone, though.
I wrote up some suggestions in my article about How to Plan a Special Thanksgiving for Kids. And now here are some photos from a real Thanksgiving party my sister hosted with our young children in mind. The cousins ranged in age from 2 to 8, and everyone had a ball--including the adults.
