Most parents will find themselves hosting at least one (if not several) of these overnight soirees, possibly in honor of a birthday sometime between the tween and teenage years. Whether you've suddenly become one of those parents and are panicking at the idea of a bunch of kids overrunning your family room, or you're planning just another one of many, perhaps choosing a theme can help you streamline the occasion.
Slumber party themes don't need to be complicated. The easiest way to choose a theme is to work with something the kids would likely do at the party anyhow. For instance, a camping theme works well since guests already sleep in sleeping bags and gather in a circle to tell stories. Just toss in a tent, some campfire-themed treats and a couple of camping games and you've got yourself a party theme!
Other things to consider when choosing a slumber party theme include the amount of guests, their age group and the interests of the birthday or host child, of course.
So, go ahead and plan that slumber party. With a theme in place as a guideline, you needn't lose another minute of sleep fretting over the sleepover - you'll lose enough of that on the actual night of the event. But it will be worth it!
