Faux Slumber Party, Take Two

By March 21, 2011

Follow me on:

Does anyone remember this mock slumber party I featured last year? Well, you have to see how another very creative mama interpreted the "night owl" birthday party theme for her own daughter.

You can see it all on SnowyBliss, a blog written by a mother who goes by the name Anj. Here is her take of the faux slumber party.

Un.be.lievable., huh?

There are definitely some similarities between the parties, but it's fun to see how another mom gave the theme her own touch. The inspiration party used a wooden headboard to make the dinner table look like a bed, for example, but since Anj was armed with artistic talent rather than carpentry skills, she made hers out of white cardboard and black markers.

I also loved this tip from the party: instead of showing a full-length feature film, play short animated clips so you have the flexibility to stop the show if the kids seem bored or restless. Anj showed Disney Pixar's Short Films Collection (compare prices) and gave it a rave review.

If you like the SnowyBliss style, be sure to check out Anj's Etsy shop, too. You can even purchase her sewing pattern for making the owl softies she gave as favors to the party guests.
